A Brief History of Networking: Part 2
November 20, 2023Endpoint Logging: Historical Contexts and Alternatives
December 18, 2023Ennetix’s vision has always been to build a solution that combines performance (application and network) and security insights on a unified observability platform.
Based on our research and insights as well as inputs from our customers, we have long held the belief that the siloed approaches — of having disjointed teams and disparate tools — have been the biggest culprit for misconfigurations and delayed responses to IT issues and outages, leading to loss of user productivity and exposure to security threats to the organization’s IT infrastructure.
We are pleased to see that, now, a majority of IT leaders worldwide share the same sentiments — 44% of respondents said networking and security teams “must work together.” Another 30% said they “must have shared processes.” Another 8% said they’re working to create one networking and security group.
It is very encouraging to see the article written by Sr. Editor Denise Dubie at Network World with the following headline:
Networking and security teams are tasked to converge and collaborate.
Networking and security teams are consolidating or are being asked by management to improve collaboration between the two groups:
Some of the challenges, as elaborated in the article, are:
- Turf wars;
- Use of different security and network management and operations platforms; and
- Lack of clarity on primary ownership of converged tools such as SD-WAN and SASE.
At Ennetix, we believe that the main issues have been the lack of a unified observability platform powered by AIOps techniques while also having built-in security insights. This ensures that one does not have to compromise security for the sake of performance and vice versa. Additionally, having both issues highlighted on the same dashboard leads to faster RCA (Root-Cause Analysis) and lower MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution).
xVisor from Ennetix is an AIOps platform that intelligently infers significant performance and security digressions and correlates root causes of outages in real time using AI/ML-powered analytics. By using the xVisor-driven AIOps solutions that are based on Zero-Trust principles, clients can get actionable information to drive improved productivity and higher revenue.
Complementing this is xTend, the endpoint agent from Ennetix for Windows, Linux, and macOS. This additional security dimension provides unprecedented observability into the OS for policy compliance and threats: i.e., monitor programs, processes, connections, commands, data provenance graphs for forensics past the first step, etc.
The full cycle of Observability, Synthesis, and then Remediation via an easy-to-use intuitive interface is aimed at bringing the NetOps, SecOps, and CloudOps (app owners) IT teams together and working in harmonious unity.
The Ennetix xVisor solution achieves this very goal of converged networking and security operations.
