Tech Talk at Cloud Security Alliance Bangalore Summit 2024: Secure AIOps
January 15, 2025Ennetix Co-Founder and President, Dr. Biswanath (Bis) Mukherjee, delivered a Keynote Talk on December 16, 2024, at the IEEE Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems (ANTS) 2024, hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, in Assam, India, during December 15-18, 2024. His Keynote was entitled: “AIOps and GenAI For IT/OT Infrastructure Security and Threat Analytics (on a single pane of glass)”.
Dr. Mukherjee‘s keynote was preceded by another Keynote Talk from Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, and Professor of Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Dr. Karandikar‘s keynote was entitled: “6G Vision: Requirements & Architectural View.”
IEEE ANTS is a premier IEEE conference on advanced networking and telecommunications topics. It is the only conference in India that is financially and technically supported by the IEEE Communications Society. The distinguishing characteristic of IEEE ANTS is the promotion of an intense dialogue between academe, industry, and government to bridge the gap between academic research, industry initiatives, and governmental policies. This is fostered through panel discussions, keynotes, invited talks, and industry exhibits, where academia is exposed to state-of-the-practice and results from trials and interoperability experiments. The industry, in turn, benefits from exposure to leading-edge research as well as an opportunity to communicate and collaborate with academic researchers regarding practical problems. The theme of IEEE ANTS 2024, held during December 15-18, 2024, was “Bridging the World with Intelligent Communication.”
Dr. Mukherjee co-founded the IEEE ANTS conference in 2007, along with Professor Ashwin Gumaste of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The first edition was held at IIT Bombay, and Bis served as the Steering Committee Chair of the conference for the first four years. Thereafter, he has been serving IEEE ANTS as its International Advisory Committee Chair, advising the Steering Committee on all major aspects of the conference, including selection of host location as the conference rotates around India serving diverse geographies, setting the vision of the conference, recruiting internationally-recognized colleagues for delivering keynote and invited talks, selection of the Steering Committee Members and Chair, and so on.
Ennetix served as a financial co-sponsor for IEEE ANTS 2024, as it has also done in 2022 and 2023.
Bis’ keynote talk at IEEE ANTS 2024 elaborated on the need for “Holistic or Unified Observability” (i.e., full ‘stack’ visibility) of an organization’s IT assets, which can provide unprecedented “Situational Awareness”. To achieve this, you need (1) Network-Traffic-Based Observability as well as (2) Endpoint Observability: for Comprehensive Zero-Trust Security.”
Bis also demonstrated the use of AIOps and GenAI techniques not only for Information Technology (IT) but also for Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure… so that an enterprise’s IT/OT Infrastructure Security and Threat Analytics can be managed on a single pane of glass.
