Revolutionizing IT Operations: Top Features of Ennetix’s Unified Observability Platform
February 13, 2025Keynote Highlights from IEEE ANTS 2024
Ennetix Co-Founder and President, Dr. Biswanath (Bis) Mukherjee, delivered a keynote address on December 16, 2024, at the IEEE Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems (ANTS) 2024 conference. The event was hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Assam, and held from December 15–18, 2024.
Dr. Mukherjee’s keynote was titled:
“AIOps and GenAI for IT Infrastructure Security and Threat Analytics (on a Single Pane of Glass)”
The session addressed the growing complexity of modern IT environments and the critical need for unified observability and AI-driven security operations.
Distinguished Opening Keynote on 6G Vision
Dr. Mukherjee’s keynote followed an inaugural keynote by Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, and Professor of Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Dr. Karandikar’s keynote, titled “6G Vision: Requirements and Architectural View,” outlined the future roadmap for intelligent communication networks and set the strategic context for discussions at IEEE ANTS 2024.
About IEEE ANTS
IEEE ANTS is a premier IEEE conference on advanced networking and telecommunications and the only conference in India that is both financially and technically supported by the IEEE Communications Society.
A defining characteristic of IEEE ANTS is its strong emphasis on collaboration between academia, industry, and government. This interaction is enabled through:
- Keynote and invited talks
- Panel discussions
- Industry exhibits and demonstrations
The conference creates a platform where academic researchers gain exposure to real-world deployments and interoperability trials, while industry leaders engage with cutting-edge research and practical problem-solving approaches.
The theme of IEEE ANTS 2024 was:
“Bridging the World with Intelligent Communication.”
Keynote Focus: Unified Observability and Situational Awareness
In his keynote, Dr. Mukherjee emphasized the importance of Holistic or Unified Observability, defined as full-stack visibility across an organization’s IT assets. Such visibility enables enhanced situational awareness, allowing enterprises to detect, understand, and respond to operational and security issues in real time.
He highlighted that achieving comprehensive observability requires the integration of two critical dimensions:
Network-Traffic-Based Observability
Provides deep insights into network behavior, traffic patterns, and anomalous activities that may indicate performance issues or security threats.
Endpoint Observability
Delivers visibility into endpoints such as servers, devices, and user systems, which is essential for enforcing zero-trust security principles.
Together, these capabilities form the foundation for comprehensive and resilient enterprise security strategies.
AIOps and GenAI for Unified IT Infrastructure Security
Dr. Mukherjee also demonstrated how AIOps and Generative AI techniques can be applied beyond traditional Information Technology environments to include Operational Technology infrastructure. By correlating data across IT and OT domains, organizations can manage infrastructure security and threat analytics through a single pane of glass.
This unified approach enables faster detection, improved root-cause analysis, and more effective response to complex security and operational challenges in modern enterprises.
