How an Enterprise Used Ennetix’s xVisor to Diagnose App Transaction Errors
Problem
Today, many enterprises use file systems, such as Panzura, distributed over hybrid cloud resources. These file systems act as the main component in many of an enterprise’s mission-critical applications. In
such an enterprise, when an employee complained that an application is inaccessible or slow, the enterprise’s IT staff had to determine if the problem is in the application or its components, in the network,
or the network services/functions. The problem is exacerbated as the enterprise has multiple offices in different locations and the applications rely on components, such as Panzura, which had on-prem servers
at the company’s offices and other servers distributed in the public cloud.
Solution
In this actual customer situation, when an employee was unable to access the mission-critical application, xVisor was able to diagnose in real time that the problem was many errors related to cancelled SMB2_CHANGE_NOTIFY transactions and No Such File SMB2_QUERY_DIRECTORY transactions
while accessing the Panzura server as shown in Fig.1. Quick diagnosis of the problem reduced the
employee’s productivity loss and also reduced the business impact on the enterprise.

This quick remediation was possible because xVisor utilizes AI-powered inference engines to analyze granular-level network performance data (on-prem or cloud) specific to an application and its users, and it creates a complete performance picture of end-to-end application-delivery and network-service-
dependency paths.
The enterprise deployed xVisor to receive the following benefits for its employees’ Panzura access:
(1) Visualize user transactions, network dependencies, and paths for an application in
real-time;
(2) Pinpoint network performance issues for different user groups (on-prem or cloud); and
(3) Gain insights from AI-powered user-transaction analysis.
